Live your Best Life


My friends,
If you value life, then do not squander time.
For that is what life is made of - Benjamin Franklin

As we enter a new Decade, I just wanted to share some 
of the principalsI gathered through the years as a scholar of life.
Just promise me this, after you’ve read this email, 
take your self seriouslyand just go out there and take action, 
follow through with your words andyou’ll see the universe 
unfolding your dreams before your eyes.
This leads me to the first principle I wish to share with you,
this is the crucial check point in your path.

You must know what it is that you truly want
We all think that we know what we want, but think about it.
We aren’t talking about that car or those pair of shoes that temporally
becomes the object of your desires and after the initial “honeymoon”
period has worn off turn into a mode of transport and those shoes
 become dust collectors? The moment is fleeting.
Make sure you know what you really want and just to be sure,
ask yourself why you want it and how your life would improve.
    
You must believe that you deserve it.
You are the only person in this whole world that is responsible for
you reach your full potential and achieve the things you want in life.
You must deem yourself worthy, otherwise you’re going nowhere.
You know you are capable of more than sitting in front of the hypnotic box.

As Napoleon Hill once said:
“There is a sure way to avoid criticism—be nothing and do
nothing. Get a job as a street sweeper and kill out ambition. The
remedy never fails.”

Take Action
Without this principle, 100% of all successful people would have failed.
The universe revolves around a single physical principle that is called
entropy, i.e. energy needs to be added to turn chaos into order.
It sounds deep, but all that it means is that you need to take action,
give your energy in order to bring about the things you want in your life.
The tried and true way to achieving or becoming anything you want
is taking action. If you can figure out a concrete goal to achieve,
consistently take the necessary steps towards that goal and
modify your approach every time you get a setback,
you will be the success that you read about.
This is the formula.
The only thing that differentiates those who succeed and those who
fail is how long you carry on trying.

Go on, go out and achieve, make 2011 the beginning of your
best decade!

Confused mind

The confused mind always says, "No."

Make your presentation simple. If your presentation is long and complicated,
most people will say "No" because they are afraid of what they don't understand.

I have see this happen and been guilty of this myself.
A sign to look for is when their eyes glass over.
Then you know you have been talking too much
instead of asking them what are their needs and wants.

If your presentation is too simple, your interested prospect will then
eagerly ask you for more information.

The simplest of course is to invite them to watch a DVD, read a brochure
or visit a web site.

Don't forget to follow up. Ask what liked about the information package.

Enjoy the Journey

The story is told of a Navy commander who sailed his ship
out into the harbour one foggy morning. As they were
heading out to sea, his signalman came and said,
“We’re on collision course with a light.”

The commander then directed the signalman to send
the following message, “On collision course.
Move 10 degrees right.”

The signal came back, “Confirmed. We are on collision course.
You move 10 degrees right.”

The Navy commander with his rank was a little incensed.
He sent back this message, “I am a full Navy commander.
You move 10 degrees right.”

The message came back, “I am a signalman second class.
You move 10 degrees right.”

Finally the commander sent this message,
“I am in a battleship. You move 10 degrees right.”

The signal came back that said,
“ I am in a lighthouse. You move 10 degrees right.”

How many times do we allow our pride to prevent us
from seeing the big picture? How many people stubbornly
refuse to see the writing on the wall of economic shifts and implement a Plan B?

Don’t make that mistake. Keep your eyes open and your
heart humble to safely navigate through life.

Friendly Marketing

I came across a story by Dr Adrian Wong.

Here is his story called Red Marbles:

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes.

I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily appraising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes. Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me.

"Hello Barry, how are you today?"

"H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look good."

"They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?"

"Fine. Gittin' stronger alla' time."

"Good.

Anything I can help you with?"

"No, Sir. Jus' admirin' them peas."

"Would you like to take some home?" asked Mr. Miller.

"No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with."

"Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?"

"All I got's my prize marble here."

"Is that right?

Let me see it" said Miller.

"Here 'tis. She's a dandy."

"I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?" the store owner asked.

"Not zackley but almost."

"Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way let me look at that red marble" . Mr. Miller told the boy.

"Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller."

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me.

With a smile she said, "There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances
Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store."

I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man.

A short time later I moved to Colorado, but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys, and their bartering for marbles.

Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Mr. Miller had died. They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket.

Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.


Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket.

"Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim "traded" them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about colour or size....they came to pay their debt."

"We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world," she confided, "but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho ."

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles.

The Moral:

We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds.

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath.

Network Marketing

Work from Home

Over the years in network marketing, I've worked with and
mentored lots of people. I've seen something consistently
through these years, perhaps you have noticed it to.
Let me digress for a moment.
Some years ago some friends of mine bought a restaurant.
They had to do all the paper work to get approvals and spent tens
of thousands to buy the equipment and set it up. Then buy
supplies, and hire employees. They worked long hours to build
their business. They didn’t have a holiday for two years.
Understand they had to pay a lot for rent, then all the other bills,
like electricity, gas, food and wages before they seen a dollar
come back to themselves. The interesting part is that during those
first two years, they never once considered quitting.
Yes they had some very difficult times and headaches with staff
but quitting was not an option.

Okay, now back to what I've noticed consistently among
network marketers – many have the expectation that their business
should be profitable within a few weeks or months and
if it's not they quit and are on to something else.
Here is the lesson I learned many years ago, that made the
difference between being a network marketing failure
and a huge success - once you have found a solid business, don't quit.
Quitting should not be an option. If it takes you a year to become
successful, so what. If it's 2 or 3 or 5, so what? Think about it for a
minute. What else are you going to do over the next 5 years
that has half the potential to give you the financial return and
time freedom for the rest of your life? Quitting should
not be in your vocabulary or your thoughts!

I know that so often network marketing is portrayed
as a get rich quick scheme. It’s not, think about a newly
planted bamboo or a tree, you look at it every day and
nothing much is happening. The bamboo is laying down its
roots first before doing much above ground.

Here's the key and your part in this picture. You've got to
find the first 2 people who are ready, willing, and able to
get out there and find their 2 people. Continue to work with
them until they are confidently building their business
on their own. If they give up, then enroll another person
in that leg and start again with them - helping them find their 2.
Your job is to get the multiplication down 4 levels.
Now, this is going to take some time, so have a long-term mindset.
Robert Kiyosaki (in his insightful new book,
The Business for the 21st Century)
says that we should have at least a 5 year mindset for
our network marketing businesses. Don’t give up your job or
other source of income, so you can continually re-invest the
profits back into your business. This will result in that
slow growth at first, but later the tremendous exponential
growth bamboo has that will result in you living the
life that most people only dream about!

So, never, never, never, never quit!
Keep talking to new people and helping those who join to
multiply and in time you will have bamboo forest.

Back to the restaurant for a minute. Of the staff my friends
spent years training, 3 opened restaurants in competition.
Now that’s tough.
Another mate with a landscaping business
had the same experience with a trainee starting their
own business in competition.
It happens all the time in real estate to.
In networking if you build a solid relationship,
both of you can benefit.

Sales Up

(NaturalNews) Sales of alternative medical products are on the rise in spite of -- and perhaps in part because of -- tough economic times.

According to a study reported in The Daily Mail, the British alternative medicines market has grown by 18 percent in the past two years, to a yearly value of £213 million ($333 million). This value is expected to rise to £282million, or another 33 percent, in the next four years. This increase has been seen across the board, even in less well-known treatments such as traditional Indian ayurvedic medicine.

In the United States, retail sales of vitamins and supplements totaled almost $639 million between October and December 2009, a nearly 10 percent increase from the same period in 2007. Sales of herbal supplements have increased 6 percent. The true scale might even be higher, as the figures do not include sales from Wal-Mart or club stores, where people are more likely to turn when there budgets become more restricted.

This increase is particularly striking given the overall downward trajectory of spending in that same time period.

Success Is Easy

Success Is Easy, But So Is Neglect by Jim Rohn

People often ask me how I became successful in a six-year period
of time while many of the people I knew did not.
The answer is simple: The things I found to be easy to do,
they found to be easy not to do.

I found it easy to set the goals that could change my life.
They found it easy not to. I found it easy to read the books
that could affect my thinking and my ideas. They found that
easy not to. I found it easy to attend the classes and the seminars,
and to be around other successful people. They said it probably
really wouldn't matter. If I had to sum it up, I would say
what I found to be easy to do, they found to be easy not to do.
Six years later, I was a millionaire and they were all still
blaming the economy, the government, and company policies,
yet they neglected to do the basic, easy things.

In fact, the primary reason most people are not doing as well
as they could and should, can be summed up in a
single word: neglect.
It is not the lack of money—banks are full of money. It is not the
lack of opportunity—America, and much of the Free World,
continues to offer the most unprecedented and abundant opportunities
in the last six thousand years of recorded history. It is not the lack of books—
libraries are full of books—and they are free! It is not the schools—
the classrooms are full of good teachers. We have plenty of ministers,
leaders, counselors and advisors.

Everything we would ever need to become rich and powerful
and sophisticated is within our reach. The major reason that so
few take advantage of all that we have is simply neglect.
Neglect is like an infection. Left unchecked it will spread
throughout our entire system of disciplines and eventually
lead to a complete breakdown of a potentially joy-filled and
prosperous human life.

Not doing the things we know we should do causes us to feel
guilty and guilt leads to an erosion of self-confidence.
As our self-confidence diminishes, so does the level of our activity.
And as our activity diminishes, our results inevitably decline.
And as our results suffer, our attitude begins to weaken.
And as our attitude begins the slow shift from positive to negative,
our self-confidence diminishes even more... and on and on it goes.

So my suggestion is that when given the choice of "easy to" and
"easy not to" that you do not neglect to do the simple, basic,
"easy" but potentially life-changing activities and disciplines.

Avoid Pain, Increase pleasure

Network Marketing, Home Business

Let us look at how to approach friends and family. In every company
I've been with over years, it was suggested to make a list of 100
or more people and start telling them about my business.
First, I want to say that there isn't anything wrong with this.
It's important for us to bring on board our friends and family
first, so they can benefit from the growth of our business.
However,most of the people we know are not going to join our
business, not straight away anyway and you don’t want to drive
them away. So the key is to sift and sort to find those who have a
need and are in the "looking zone" with the least amount of
personal rejection.

None of us take rejection well and I have know many a former
network marketer who introduced their business to five to ten of
their friends and then quit the business feeling totally rejected.
I want to eliminate that possibility in this e-mail by giving you
a proven rejection-proof method for contacting your friends and
family. I was taught this years ago and many experienced leaders
have used it with great success, so pay close attention.

The system is called F.O.R.M. I’m mentioned it before and if
you've been in the network marketing industry for more than a
few years, you've probably heard about it. It's a conversational
educational method that eliminates rejection, because you are not
going to be approaching anyone with your business, until you have
been given approval.

Here's how it works. Call a friend or family member from your
prospecting list and check to see if they have a few minutes to
catch up on life (this can also be done in person). If they do,
begin asking questions based on F.O.R.M. Make sure you do this as
part of the conversation, so they don't feel that you are
cross examining them.

F = Family - ask questions about their family, kids,
activities, health, etc.

O = Occupation - ask questions about their job or business,
commuting.

R = Recreation - ask questions about recent or upcoming
vacations or fun things they have done lately.

M = Money or Motivation - ask questions about investments or
methods they are using to secure their financial future.

You don’t want to be overly intrusive. What you are looking for,
in their answers, are areas of pain. We all want to improve our
lives and the lives of our friends. We all want to avoid all
forms discomfort physical, emotional, financial and increase
pleasure, improve our lives.

Perhaps a family member is feeling run down and may benefit from
trying our product. They might mention that Johnny is playing
baseball, but their job has kept them from seeing any games.
In the occupation area, they might mention that the company is
doing some downsizing and they might not have a job. In the
recreation area, they might say that they can't afford to go on
vacation. In the money area, they might say that they're just
living pay-check to pay-check and don't have any
money to invest. Make notes of these pain areas.

Next, share a few things about your life, including the fact
that you have launched a new business, but don't give them
any details. In fact if they start asking questions, give
them very short answers and change the subject
(by doing this you are creating curiosity)
back to something about them and close the call.

If you found some pain areas, call them the next day and say
something like: "Mary, yesterday when we were talking you
mentioned (list the pain areas). I don't know if this is
right for you or even if you would be interested, but I've
started a new business that just might be the solution for
you in the areas you mentioned and at least I should let
you know about it. Would you like to take a look at what
I'm doing and see what it can do for you and your family?"

Most people will say either "yes" or "tell me more".
In either case, make sure you have a next step in mind -
weekly webinar, teleconference, or live meeting, a web site
where they can gain more info or a personal presentation
with DVD. Make the arrangement for your friend or family
member to see a presentation and then ask them
"What did you see or hear that you liked?" or
"What did see or hear that grabbed your attention?"

Remember you are trying to help them, by offering a possible
solution for their concern. It is all about building long term
